Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully before booking a Tibet trip through TibetTrip.

TibetTrip is a Tibet travel specialist brand run by Metok. We help international travelers understand Tibet, choose suitable routes, and plan their trips through practical travel information, itineraries, and local insight.

When you choose to book a tour introduced through TibetTrip, the travel service may be provided and operated by our licensed Tibet operating partner. Depending on the booking arrangement, the operating partner may handle the formal travel contract, payment, permits, reservations, and on-the-ground operation of your trip.

The specific terms that apply to your booking will be confirmed in your quotation, booking confirmation, and/or travel contract before payment.

Before You Book

The table below gives you a quick overview of how a TibetTrip booking may work.

The exact contracting party, payment instructions, cancellation conditions, and included services will be stated in your booking documents. Please review them carefully before making payment.

If you are unsure who will sign your travel contract or receive your payment, please ask us before booking.

1. Who You Are Booking With

TibetTrip is a Tibet travel specialist brand run by Metok.

Our role is primarily to help international travelers:

• Understand travel conditions in Tibet
• Choose suitable routes
• Compare itinerary options
• Plan realistic travel schedules
• Get practical information before booking
• Submit tour enquiries and connect with the appropriate travel operator

Depending on the tour and booking arrangement, TibetTrip may introduce your enquiry to a licensed Tibet operating partner who handles the actual travel operation.

The operating partner may be responsible for:

• The formal travel contract
• Collection of tour payments
• Tibet Travel Permit applications
• Hotel and transportation reservations
• Guides and drivers
• On-the-ground travel services
• Other operational arrangements included in your itinerary

If a separate travel contract is issued by the operating partner, that contract will identify the legal contracting party and the specific terms applicable to your booking.

Please check the contracting party and payment instructions before making any payment.

2. Travel Enquiries and Booking

Submitting an enquiry through TibetTrip does not automatically create a confirmed booking.

Your enquiry may be used to:

• Understand your travel plans
• Recommend suitable itineraries
• Prepare a quotation
• Check availability
• Introduce your enquiry to our licensed operating partner
• Coordinate the next steps of your booking

A booking becomes confirmed only after you have accepted the applicable itinerary and quotation, completed the required booking procedures, and made any payment required under the applicable travel contract.

Availability is not guaranteed until it has been confirmed by the relevant travel operator.

3. Travel Contract

Before making a final payment, travelers should receive the applicable travel contract or booking confirmation.

Depending on the arrangement, this document should set out important details such as:

• Travel dates
• Number of travelers
• Itinerary
• Included services
• Excluded services
• Tour price
• Payment schedule
• Cancellation terms
• Travel document requirements
• Other important booking conditions

If the travel contract is issued by our licensed operating partner, the operating partner is responsible for the contractual travel services described in that agreement.

Please read your travel contract carefully before signing or making payment.

If there is any difference between general information on the TibetTrip website and the terms in your specific travel contract, the terms of the applicable contract will govern the booked travel services.

4. Payment

Payment arrangements depend on the tour and the licensed operating partner handling the booking.

Your quotation or travel contract will specify:

• Total tour price
• Required deposit
• Payment deadlines
• Accepted payment methods
• Applicable bank, payment, or transfer fees
• Cancellation and refund conditions

Unless otherwise stated in your booking documents, third-party payment, banking, or currency-conversion charges may be the responsibility of the traveler.

Please make payments only using the payment instructions provided in your official quotation or travel contract.

TibetTrip does not ask travelers to make payments through unofficial personal accounts or payment channels.

5. Tibet Travel Permits and Travel Documents

International travelers visiting Tibet generally need the appropriate travel documents and permits before entering the Tibet Autonomous Region.

Depending on your itinerary and nationality, this may include a Tibet Travel Permit and additional permits or documents required for specific areas.

Travelers are responsible for providing accurate and complete personal and passport information when requested.

Incorrect, incomplete, or late information may affect the ability to arrange:

• Tibet Travel Permits
• Train or flight tickets
• Hotels
• Transportation
• Other travel services

TibetTrip and its operating partner are not responsible for delays or problems caused by inaccurate or incomplete information supplied by the traveler.

Permit and travel requirements can change according to current regulations. We will advise travelers based on the requirements applicable to their itinerary and travel dates.

6. Changes to Your Trip

If you need to change your itinerary or travel dates after booking, please contact us as soon as possible.

Changes may depend on:

• Availability
• Hotel cancellation policies
• Train or flight ticket rules
• Permit processing requirements
• Transportation availability
• Other third-party charges

Any additional cost resulting from a traveler-requested change may be payable by the traveler.

For significant itinerary changes, the applicable operating partner will confirm the revised arrangements and any additional charges before the change is finalized.

7. Cancellation and Refunds

Cancellation and refund conditions depend on the travel contract applicable to your booking.

Your quotation or contract should specify the applicable cancellation deadlines and charges.

Refund amounts may be affected by non-refundable or partially refundable services such as:

• Train tickets
• Air tickets
• Hotels
• Transportation
• Permit processing
• Other third-party services

If you need to cancel your trip, please submit the request in writing as early as possible.

Do not assume that a tour deposit or payment is automatically refundable. Always check the cancellation terms in your specific booking contract.

8. Transportation and Third-Party Services

Some services included in a Tibet itinerary are provided by independent third parties, including:

• Airlines
• Railway companies
• Hotels
• Local transportation providers
• Drivers
• Other tourism service providers

Schedules, routes, prices, vehicle types, accommodation, and other arrangements may sometimes change because of circumstances outside our direct control.

If an airline, railway company, hotel, or other service provider changes or cancels a service, we will assist with reasonable alternative arrangements where possible.

Any additional cost or financial loss resulting from a third-party change will be handled according to the applicable service provider’s rules and the terms of your travel contract.

9. Health and High-Altitude Travel

Tibet is a high-altitude destination, and travelers should understand the physical demands of traveling on the Tibetan Plateau.

Depending on the route, travelers may stay at elevations above 3,500 meters, with some destinations substantially higher.

Travelers are responsible for considering whether they are physically fit for their planned itinerary.

We recommend that travelers:

• Consult a qualified medical professional if they have concerns about high-altitude travel
• Allow reasonable time for acclimatization
• Inform the tour operator of relevant health concerns before travel
• Follow reasonable safety instructions from guides and local staff
• Seek medical assistance when necessary

TibetTrip and its operating partner cannot guarantee that a traveler will not experience altitude-related or other health problems.

For safety reasons, itinerary changes may sometimes be necessary if a traveler becomes unwell or if continuing the planned route would present a significant safety concern.

10. Travel Insurance

Travelers are strongly advised to purchase comprehensive travel insurance before traveling to Tibet.

Your insurance should ideally cover, where available:

• Medical treatment
• Emergency evacuation
• Trip cancellation
• Trip interruption
• Lost or delayed baggage
• Flight or train disruption
• Other risks relevant to your itinerary

If any insurance is included with a particular tour, this will be stated in the applicable quotation or travel contract.

Travelers should review their insurance policy carefully to make sure that high-altitude travel and the activities included in their itinerary are covered.

11. Force Majeure and Unforeseen Circumstances

Tibet travel can be affected by circumstances beyond the reasonable control of TibetTrip or its operating partner.

These may include:

• Severe weather
• Natural disasters
• Road closures
• Railway or flight disruptions
• Government or regulatory restrictions
• Sudden permit restrictions
• Public health emergencies
• Strikes
• Other unforeseen circumstances

When such circumstances occur, we will make reasonable efforts to adjust the itinerary or arrange alternatives where possible.

Additional costs resulting from circumstances outside the operator’s reasonable control may be the responsibility of the traveler, subject to the applicable travel contract and relevant law.

12. Itinerary Changes During Your Trip

Travel conditions in Tibet can change, particularly on long-distance routes and in remote areas.

For operational or safety reasons, the order of sightseeing, accommodation, transportation, or individual activities may sometimes need to change.

Where possible, the operating partner will maintain the main itinerary and included services.

If an included service cannot be provided, the operator will make reasonable efforts to arrange an appropriate alternative.

13. Personal Belongings and Travel Responsibilities

Travelers are responsible for their passports, money, electronic devices, luggage, and other personal belongings.

TibetTrip and its operating partner are not responsible for loss or theft of personal belongings except where otherwise required by applicable law or expressly stated in the applicable travel contract.

Travelers are also responsible for complying with applicable customs, immigration, transportation, and local travel requirements.

14. Independent Travel Arrangements

If you independently book flights, hotels, transportation, or other services outside the itinerary arranged through TibetTrip or its operating partner, please make sure those arrangements are compatible with your confirmed itinerary.

We cannot guarantee that independently booked services will connect with or be compatible with the tour schedule.

Additional costs resulting from missed connections, incompatible bookings, or changes to independently arranged services are normally the traveler’s responsibility.

15. Complaints and Problems During Your Trip

If you experience a problem during your trip, please report it to your guide, driver, operating partner, or TibetTrip as soon as reasonably possible.

Early notification gives the operating team an opportunity to investigate the problem and, where possible, resolve it while you are still traveling.

For serious complaints or requests for compensation, please submit the details in writing after the relevant incident.

16. Governing Law

The governing law and dispute-resolution arrangements applicable to your booking will be stated in the travel contract issued by the contracting travel operator.

Where TibetTrip is acting as a travel information, planning, or referral brand rather than the contracting travel operator, disputes relating to the underlying travel services should be addressed according to the applicable travel contract.
