Terms and Conditions for Booking Tibet Tour with TibetTrip

Please read this document carefully before booking your tour with TibetTrip. By registering and joining a TibetTrip tour itinerary, you are agreeing to these Terms and Conditions, which govern the relationship between you and TibetTrip. These Terms and Conditions affect your rights and designate the governing law and forum for the resolution of any and all disputes.

1. Reservation

1.1 A reservation is made once you decide to book a tour with TibetTrip, agreeing to the tailor-made itinerary, quotation, and detailed services.

1.2 Our travel expert will send a formal tour contract. Please complete the Travelers List and Health Status sections on each page.

1.3 The signed contract should be scanned/photographed and emailed back to us.

1.4 The contract becomes effective and valid only after TibetTrip receives both the signed contract and the required deposit.

1.5 Upon fulfillment, the TibetTrip operation team will proceed with all reservations based on your final agreed itinerary.

2. Payment

We accept PayPal (for amounts under $1,000 USD), credit card bank authorization (for amounts over $1,000 USD), wire transfer, Western Union, and cash. Except for cash, service or processing charges from your bank may apply.

2.1 Deposit (20%): Required to reserve your space. Payment indicates acceptance of these Terms & Conditions. Please notify us of any contract inaccuracies within 5 days.

2.2 Second Deposit (40%): Required 15 days prior to arrival. Note that hotel and vehicle reservations cancelled within 15 days are usually non-refundable.

2.3 Balance (40%): Payable on arrival. You may also choose to pay this with the second deposit.

2.4 Air/Train Tickets: Full payment is required at the time of reservation.

2.5 Transfer Fees: All transfer, PayPal, and bank fees are the responsibility of the traveler.

2.6 Currency: Tours are quoted in USD. Cash payments in Tibet can be made in USD, RMB, EUR, or GBP.

2.7 Exchange Rates: TibetTrip reserves the right to adjust rates in the event of significant fluctuations in CNY/USD/EUR exchange rates.

3. Change or Modification

3.1 Pre-Tour: Changes must be requested via email. Fees from third-party providers (hotels, airlines) may apply.

3.2 During Tour: Unused entrance fees and accommodation will be refunded. For private tours, partial unused transportation may be refunded depending on the situation.

3.3 Force Majeure: For changes caused by weather, political upheavals, or unforeseen circumstances, neither party is held responsible. Extra costs are covered by the traveler.

3.4 Transport Provider Issues: TibetTrip is not responsible for losses, delays, or alterations caused by airlines or railway companies, or other factors beyond our direct control. We will assist in re-scheduling, but financial losses remain the traveler’s responsibility.

3.5 Date Modification: Travelers may modify their departure date up to 1 month before the tour start date.

4. Cancellation & Refund Policy

All requests must be submitted in writing. Cancellation fees are calculated based on the total tour cost:

4.1 30+ Days Prior: No cancellation fee (excluding air/train ticket refund losses).

4.2 30 to 15 Days Prior: 20% charge + air/train ticket losses.

4.3 14 to 7 Days Prior: 30% charge + air/train ticket losses.

4.4 Less than 7 Days Prior: 50% charge + air/train ticket losses.

4.5 After Arrival in Lhasa: Only entrance tickets are refundable.

4.6 No Show: 100% charge.

Refunds are typically processed within 3 days of the request.

5. Travel Documents

Travelers must provide a passport valid for at least 6 months and necessary visas. TibetTrip is not liable for failures resulting from inaccurate information provided by the traveler (e.g., non-disclosure of restricted occupations like diplomats or journalists). While we may assist with invitation documents, we are not responsible for visa denials.

6. Health Requirements

Travelers are responsible for determining if they are fit for high-altitude activities. TibetTrip is not liable for health complications arising from the itinerary. We reserve the right to decline any participant if their health status may affect their safety or the enjoyment of others.

7. Travel Insurance

TibetTrip provides Personal Travel Accident Insurance through Ping An Insurance (Group) Company of China, Ltd.

Maximum compensation: 250,000 RMB (100,000 RMB for Chinese citizens).

Insurance only covers accidents inside China.

Strong Recommendation: We strongly advise travelers to purchase comprehensive international travel insurance from their home country as a supplement.

8. Responsibility & Liability

8.1 Service Limitation: TibetTrip is not responsible for negligent acts or failures of third-party suppliers (land, air, water transport, or hotels) not directly owned by us.

8.2 External Factors: We are not liable for injury, loss, or damage caused by climate, fire, breakdown, acts of government, strikes, or theft.

8.3 Personal Belongings & Customs Compliance: Travelers are responsible for their valuables; TibetTrip is not liable for stolen items or your failure to comply with local customs regulations.

8.4 Flexibility: We reserve the right to substitute accommodations or routes of equal value for smooth operations. We also reserve the right to vary the sightseeing order to ensure you visit all listed excursions; the itinerary content will be maintained to the extent possible.

8.5 Cancellations by Us: If TibetTrip cancels a tour before it starts, a full refund of all money received will be issued.

8.6 Independent Bookings: We are not responsible for conflicts caused by flights or hotels booked solely by the client.

8.7 Pricing: We reserve the right to correct pricing errors or adjust for fuel surcharges, currency fluctuations, or tax increases.

9. Governing Law

This contract is governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China. Disputes should be resolved via discussion first; if unresolved, they shall be submitted to the local People’s Court.

10. Contact & Complaints

Complaints must be reported to TibetTrip while the tour is in progress to allow for immediate resolution.
